It’s with great pride, and not a small amount of exhaustion, that I’m proud to announce the arrival of Molly Anne McGorry, born on January 4th at 4:52am a healthy 7lbs 12 oz. Of course, another redhead.
I’d like to say I gave her some meaningful first words to guide her life, but all I really could muster was “…about time…” At kid # 3 the magic is still there, it’s just more subdued.
For those of you wondering why the email update with this news took so long to reach you, I could probably chalk it up to the craziness of managing two toddlers while their mother recovers.
The truth, however, is that Kitty caught me checking email somewhere around hour 4 of labor and it’s taken me this long to “recover” my Blackberry (something probably akin to childbirth).
Everyone is doing well now, and the cavalry has arrived in the form of my mother who takes no end of joy to see me run ragged by a three and one year-old. I just wish she hadn’t put the phrase “Here comes yours…” to song.
We hope to share some more pictures of the new family to everyone soon. For now we hope you enjoy these from her first day, and please remember that even Halle Berry looked like she had been in a barfight on the day she was born so let's try not to stick poor Molly with the nickname "Sluggo", 'cause apparently Kitty doesn't like it.

I think the last three Star Wars movies prove George Lucas is a terrible director. Maybe he should have hired the guys who made this: The Most Incredible Home-Made Lightsaber Duel of All Time.
Shot right here in Menlo Park, CA.
It's great, although a little violent in the last 30 seconds. Parents should preview it before showing their kids.

Okay, this one's not for Sean, but I found it pretty interesting. Most kids will find it boring.
Having a kid or two really shows you the conditioning it takes to have little monkeys fit into society. Ask any parent who's gone through potty training.
We may be cute, clever, and have big-screen TVs, but deep down we're all just monkeys.

Easter may be over but we're still obsessed with eggs, thanks to this little ditty.
If anyone else has good tunes with cute animation online, send me more links. Sean makes us play this dozens of times a day and we can only take it for a little longer.

Attention all grandparents and relatives... we now have some new pictures posted.
And it's a good thing I've setup a blog for this site otherwise you wouldn't see these until 2007.
You can find the new images here.
I promise to try to get some more pics posted before Andra graduates high school.

One of Kitty's roomates from college, Anna Marie, is a wonderful photographer and recently took some pictures of Andra.
You can see them at http://neversent.com/gallery/andra.
Kitty says she see my mom in her. Others say they see Kitty.
Me? All I see is the new woman in my life who has open access to my heart and my bank account.

Halloween is now, officially, our new favorite holiday. At least it's our favorite holiday so long as we get to decide how to dress the kids. And paint a mustache on Sean.
Yes, we've done it before...but we're not sure he'll let us do it again and we've got to get our kicks while we can. We've posted the gallery online here. My co-worker, Phillina, has two friends who dressed as these guys (video 1, video 2). If you ever doubted the entertainment value of The Backstreet Boys, you just haven't been looking at the right video.
Trust me.

I promised Kitty that if I put any links to interesting web-stuff on this site that it would be family-friendly.
Fiiiiiiine-uh....
So here's what we're watching this week with Sean.
The original flash movie is all about bunny-cat love in Korea. A lesson, if you will, about love and accomodation. And Korean vending machines.
The sequel is about, well...cake. There's also a lesson in there about avoiding bunnies in SARS masks, but that's more of a sub-plot.
Sean wants to watch them over and over, so fortunately they're pretty good. I hope you enjoy them, too.

So we have a new mcgorry.com website, lazy-man-blog-style. Feel free to leave comments on the pictures and entries.
I've also setup a photo gallery site with WebShots so I can keep the grandparents happy with more frequent updates. You can access the gallery from the link on the left and once there you can view the thumbnails, slideshow, or high-res images for those who want to print something out. They even have a service to print for you, or put photos on mugs, mousepads, etc. I'm sure the grandparents will love this [rolls-eyes].
Let me know what you think about all this stuff and I'll keep trying to improve it all.

I’m happy to say the latest addition to the McGorry clan has now arrived! Andra Lynn McGorry was born at 10:11am at 7 lbs, 15 oz on August 10th, 2005. Her first act on this earth was to bite the doctor as she was trying to help her out. This does not bode well. Mother and baby are doing great and Sean seems to like his little sister very much so far. The baby and I have already set clear manager/employee expectations. We are in-synch that her next action item is to be nice to her mother, but I’ve seen her “deliverables” already and we may need to talk about this further at her 90 day review.
